THE FULL DETAIL

Everything about the Watchtower

Full specification

A wall-mounted climbing platform with a built-in scratching post, for cats that want height in a home that has no floor to spare.

A floor-standing cat tree eats a square metre of a room and looks like pet furniture. This one fixes to the wall in solid wood, takes up no floor at all, and reads as a shelf rather than a scratching post with a cat on it.

Height is what cats actually want

Cats climb to feel safe. A high perch lets them watch a room without being in it, which is why the top of a wardrobe is more popular than any bed you have bought them. Giving them a proper place to do that usually settles a cat that has been restless or territorial.

Mounting it on the wall also puts them above the dog, the toddler, and the hoover, which is often the whole problem in a busy house.

Somewhere to scratch that is not your sofa

Cats scratch to stretch and to mark, and they prefer a surface that resists. The integrated post gives them that at the exact moment they arrive on the platform, which is when a cat is most likely to stretch out and scratch anyway.

Putting the post where the cat already goes is the trick. A scratching post in the corner of a room gets ignored; one built into the route they climb every day gets used.

Solid wood, and it looks like it

The frame is solid wood with bent platforms rather than carpet-wrapped chipboard, so it ages like a shelf instead of fraying like a cat tree. The 3cm mats give a soft landing on the platforms and lift out when they need a wash.

Because it is modular, you can mount the pieces in a stepped run to make a climbing route up a wall, or fit a single platform as a window perch.

Specifications

  • Material: solid wood, bentwood platform
  • Platform component: 41 x 20 x 1.2cm
  • Included: two square platforms and 3cm mats
  • Scratching surface: integrated post
  • Suits: medium-sized cats
  • Mounting: wall-fixed, hardware and instructions supplied
  • In the box: climbing frame, two square platforms, mats, mounting hardware

Worth knowing before you buy

  • This must be screwed into a wall and is not free-standing. You will need a drill, and you will need to find the studs or use proper heavy-duty anchors.
  • The supplied fixings suit masonry. If you are mounting into plasterboard alone, buy rated plasterboard anchors separately. A cat lands on this with force and a failed fixing is a falling shelf.
  • It is sized for medium cats. A very large or heavy cat needs a wider platform than this one.
  • Self-assembly is required before mounting.
  • Cats do not always take to a new perch immediately. Mounting it near a window, or somewhere they already jump to, gets it used far faster.
  • Orders are dispatched within 7 to 10 working days. See our shipping policy for the full detail.
Setting it up
1

Fill and plug in

Lift the lid, pour in up to 6 litres of dry food, drop the desiccant pack into the drying box and connect the adapter. Add 4 AA batteries for power-cut backup.

2

Pair with the app

Install the Pet Zero app, turn on your phone's Bluetooth and it finds the feeder by itself. It works on either 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi.

3

Set the schedule

Choose your feeding times and the portion size for each. Run it for a few days while you are home before relying on it while away.

GOOD TO KNOW

Frequently asked questions

Everything worth knowing before you buy. Still unsure? Ask a human and we'll reply within a day.

How long will delivery take?

We dispatch within 7 to 10 working days of your order, then it is 1 to 2 working days with a tracked courier. Full detail on our Delivery & Returns page.

What food does it take?

Dry kibble only, 3 to 15mm, including freeze-dried and air-dried food. Wet, raw and fresh food don't keep safely in a hopper, so the feeder doesn't support them.

What happens if my Wi-Fi drops?

Your cat still gets fed. The feeding schedule is stored on the feeder itself rather than in the cloud, so meals keep dispensing on time. What pauses is the remote side of it: the live camera, notifications and feeding by hand from your phone. All of it returns on its own once the network is back, with nothing to re-pair.

Is it safe to leave for a week?

Yes, and capacity is the easy part: six litres is roughly two to three weeks of food for one cat. Two honest caveats. Run it for a few days while you are at home first, so you know your cat takes to it. And for longer trips still have someone able to look in, because a feeder handles meals and lets you watch, but it cannot refill a water bowl or spot a cat that has stopped eating.

What happens in a power cut?

Four AA batteries take over and scheduled meals keep dispensing. The feeder sleeps between meals on battery, so the camera and app pause until mains power returns, but your cat still gets fed on time. Rechargeable batteries are not recommended, as they can make the feeder report its charge level inaccurately.

What Wi-Fi does it need?

Either band. It connects to 2.4GHz or 5GHz, so it will work with whatever your router broadcasts.

Can it feed two cats?

One feeder portions one bowl reliably. For multi-cat homes we recommend one feeder per cat, because cats who share a bowl rarely share it fairly.

Is there a subscription for the camera?

No. Live video and two-way audio work through the Pet Zero app with no monthly fee. There is no SD card slot and no cloud plan — you watch live and can save a snapshot or clip to your phone.

What if I change my mind?

You have a full 30 days from delivery to return it. Email hello@kittykorners.com and we will send return instructions.
