A 57mm rechargeable toy ball with a silicone tail that rolls and squeaks on its own, in two speeds, for up to four hours a charge.
The tail is the part that matters. A plain ball rolls; a ball with a trailing tail moves like something alive, and that is what turns a cat's interest from a glance into a proper stalk.
It moves like prey, not like a ball
Cats hunt movement that is erratic and slightly wrong. The weighted ball wobbles rather than rolling true, and the silicone tail drags and flicks behind it, which reads to a cat as an animal rather than an object.
It makes noise too, which triggers the same response as a rustle in long grass. That combination of sound and unpredictable movement is why a cat will chase this after ignoring a static toy for weeks.
Two speeds for two kinds of cat
Normal mode is a steady wander, which suits a cat that likes to stalk and pounce. Crazy mode is faster and more erratic, for a young cat that wants a flat-out chase.
At 66 grams a cat can bat it hard across a room, so it is a two-way game rather than something they only watch.
Built to be bitten
The shell is ABS with silicone, chosen because cats catch this and carry it in their mouths. It resists chewing rather than splitting into pieces the first time a cat gets a proper grip on it.
The 300mAh battery gives two to four hours of running and six days on standby, charged over USB at 5V.

Worth knowing before you buy
- This is a supervised toy. The silicone tail is a detachable part and a cat that chews rather than chases could swallow a piece of it. Put it away between sessions.
- Check the tail for damage before each use, and stop using it if it is chewed through.
- It makes a noise while running, which is the point for the cat and worth knowing if you want a quiet room.
- Some cats, particularly nervous or older ones, are frightened by a toy that moves by itself. Introduce it in a large room with an escape route.
- It works best on hard floors. Deep carpet slows it considerably and shortens the run time.
- Cats lose interest in any toy that is always out. Rotating it away keeps it working.

Fill and plug in
Lift the lid, pour in up to 6 litres of dry food, drop the desiccant pack into the drying box and connect the adapter. Add 4 AA batteries for power-cut backup.
Pair with the app
Install the Pet Zero app, turn on your phone's Bluetooth and it finds the feeder by itself. It works on either 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi.
Set the schedule
Choose your feeding times and the portion size for each. Run it for a few days while you are home before relying on it while away.

How long will delivery take?
We dispatch within 7 to 10 working days of your order, then it is 1 to 2 working days with a tracked courier. Full detail on our Delivery & Returns page.
What food does it take?
Dry kibble only, 3 to 15mm, including freeze-dried and air-dried food. Wet, raw and fresh food don't keep safely in a hopper, so the feeder doesn't support them.
What happens if my Wi-Fi drops?
Your cat still gets fed. The feeding schedule is stored on the feeder itself rather than in the cloud, so meals keep dispensing on time. What pauses is the remote side of it: the live camera, notifications and feeding by hand from your phone. All of it returns on its own once the network is back, with nothing to re-pair.
Is it safe to leave for a week?
Yes, and capacity is the easy part: six litres is roughly two to three weeks of food for one cat. Two honest caveats. Run it for a few days while you are at home first, so you know your cat takes to it. And for longer trips still have someone able to look in, because a feeder handles meals and lets you watch, but it cannot refill a water bowl or spot a cat that has stopped eating.
What happens in a power cut?
Four AA batteries take over and scheduled meals keep dispensing. The feeder sleeps between meals on battery, so the camera and app pause until mains power returns, but your cat still gets fed on time. Rechargeable batteries are not recommended, as they can make the feeder report its charge level inaccurately.
What Wi-Fi does it need?
Either band. It connects to 2.4GHz or 5GHz, so it will work with whatever your router broadcasts.
Can it feed two cats?
One feeder portions one bowl reliably. For multi-cat homes we recommend one feeder per cat, because cats who share a bowl rarely share it fairly.
Is there a subscription for the camera?
No. Live video and two-way audio work through the Pet Zero app with no monthly fee. There is no SD card slot and no cloud plan — you watch live and can save a snapshot or clip to your phone.
